On my flight from Oklahoma City, OK, to Chicago, IL, it looked like the planet was blanketed in white. Thanks to the sun’s angle during the evening, the clouds displayed interesting textures, with some fluffy clouds larger than others.
It was a majestic sight worth remembering. At some points during the flight, it looked and felt like I was on another planet.
I’ve forgotten how relaxing it is to lay back and watch puffy white clouds float by. 
An absolutely stunning day filled with warmth and sunshine.
Looks like the moon is cold and needed a wool blanket.
Woke up today and when I looked out our cabin window, I had this strange feeling as if we were floating in the sky. As it turns out, it was just very foggy within the valleys and we could see the top of the lower cloud deck. However, the forecast for today has us under a flood watch with a 90% chance of heavy rain. We experienced a good bit of rain yesterday so with the heavy rain today, shouldn’t be hard to cause flash flooding. Here is a snapshot of what it looked like this morning.
Fog Rolling In On A Monday Morning
I think today we’ll be doing inside stuff such as Ripleys Aquarium and some other shops.
On Saturday May 3rd, 2008, a line of convection moved through my area. After receiving some drenching rains in the morning hours, this gave way to sunny skies as a dry slot had formed. The sun came out in full force, but the temperature didn’t rise that much as it mostly stayed within the mid 50s. However, this sunshine was enough to destabilize the atmosphere just before the actual cold front arrived. A line of quick moving thunderstorms developed on top of the cold front and moved through the area. These storms brought pea sized hail with mild gusty winds. I only witnessed one lightning strike during the entire event which is a shame, since I enjoy watching lightning but enjoy the sound of thunder more. Out of all of the cars that have driven down my street playing their loud thumping rap music, none of their sound systems have been able to compare to the bass that thunder produces. It’s just the beginning of May, but I hope this thunderstorm season is a little more active than last years.
