This is a clip from one of the latest episodes of SouthPark called Over Logging. This episode was yet again hilarious. Check out the full episode here. Then report back to me on how they managed to fix THE INTERNET.

I was thinking and really, there are many points of failure, just think that if DNS backbone went out, we’ll all be kind of screwed, except you know, the DNS lookups on the local machine, and the DNS cache at the ISP, and the DNS cache at the ISP upstream from them, and the one upstream from them, but if you wanted to go to a site that no one hardly ever goes to, like my site, then you’ll won’t be able to do it.
Of course, with about 6 or 7 backbone routers, it would be very difficult for the Internet to go down across the great old US of A, but I remember some major outages centralized in one area. The US is lucky however, other countries only have one backbone router, if that goes down, they’d be screwed.
You really don’t have much to be afraid of, because of the way the routing protocols work.
I’m pretty sure I know why Jeff likes this vid. Something about the Japanese girls and puke or something. Unless it’s the elephants of course (giddy up little horsey)
