Almost Too Close

On May 13th 2009, a tornado was bearing down on Kirksville, MO. Bart Comstock who is a storm chaser for SevereStudios.com almost became a victim when he looks to his left and sees the Twister moving right towards him. Thankfully, he was on the outskirts of the circulation. Make sure you listen to the noise this thing makes when his driver side window is down. This thing is producing the classic ‘freight train‘ noise which is most commonly reported from witnesses.

And here is footage of the same tornado by a chasing tour. This could have turned into a storm chasing disaster.

Personally, I would have been scared to death but I can almost guarantee that in the video, you would hear me say “this is $%#%^$# awesome”.

Best Wheel Of Fortune Contestant Ever!

I’m a game show junkie. I used to watch Wheel Of Fortune, Press Your Luck and a few other game shows religously when growing up. I’ve discovered that YouTube is a haven for all sorts of game show clips including full episodes of specific shows. While browsing through YouTube the other night, I came across a video showcasing the best Wheel Of Fortune Contestant to ever appear on the show and you know what? I agree! Watch and see.

The Day Zunes Stood Still

Paying attention to my Twitter feed, I noticed a story on Gizmodo which showcased a number of 30 GB hard drive Zunes were freezing for no reason. Upon looking at my own, I noticed that mine froze as well. Here is a video for proof!

I’m currently in the middle of trying to perform a hard reset but it is not working.

*UPDATE*
After unplugging my Zune to let the battery die, I plugged it back in to recharge. This seems to have solved the issue.

Which Motrin Ad Is Offensive

First, we have the Motrin ad that seems to have enraged baby-wearing moms all across the country. I’m not a mom so it doesn’t really offend me that much but I have to say, the tone in the commercial comes across as if the viewer is dumb. Watch it for yourself and see if you’re offended by it.

Next we have a spoof on the original commercial with a totally different source of back pain. Let me know if this one was more offensive than the first.

One thing is for certain, the publics outcry from sites such as YouTube and Twitter forced the advertising agency that works with Motrin to pull the ad from their website along with their various media outlets. However, the ad is printed in magazines that are on news stands. I’m wondering if I should purchase one to save it as a collectible?

Disk Streaming

This is the kind of advertising I enjoy. Something cool that shows off what your product can do. This is a video showing off Ardence now known as IntervalZero which is a piece of software used to stream operating systems onto desktop PCs.

I’ve been told via email that this piece of software is not owned by IntervalZero but is instead, Ardence’s software-streaming products have been rebranded and are now part of the Citrix portfolio. IntervalZero, a new company, acquired the former Ardence Embedded business from Citrix in July 2008. IntervalZero does not develop nor do they have rights to Citrix’s software-streaming product.

The music fits in nicely with the video.

Which Video Game Was This Kid Playing

A seven year old Australian kid broke into a zoo and then decided to kill a couple lizards and then feed animals to the crocodile. Because of the laws within the region, the seven year old can not be charged however, the zoo owner is planning on suing the parents.

How long will it take mainstream media to tell us that prior to the incident, the kid was found to be playing some sort of violent video game and therefor, the video game is to blame, not the kid?
